T. Rex - Electric Warrior

I could probably never hear the whole bang a gong/get it on thing ever again and be happy, but despite that, hearing a lot of other T. Rex music is certainly not a bad thing and I found it surprising how much I enjoyed listening to this, even wondering if I’d actually ever heard it in the first place, maybe at a friend’s or was when I was younger. If you remember the previously aforementioned hit, you’ve been introduced to the Rex style in full and this could be their finest moment. Already looking forward to another play.

The Pretty Things - BBC Sessions

S. F. Sorrow is one of the classic late 60s art/psych releases, but it’s so layered and conceptualized that it’s easy to forget about the band itself, the rawer, stripped down unit you might see in their earlier music or all over this set of BBC Sessions. In fact I’m more familiar with Parachute than any of the earlier material so enjoyed listening to the band evolve over the various sessions and do stripped down versions of Sorrow music and beyond. Certainly a lot to go through for a first listen, but the bits of familiarity started grounding it by the second disc.
